How to travel the Great Ocean Road, like a Boss

Great Ocean Road

Travel with style, like a boss

How? On a red convertible, of course. (Or open car, as some of you know it.) The cover photo says it all– me in the back seat just soaking in the sun, carefree and laughing at everyone with their hoods on. Thank you, Haruka, for making this fantasy come true! And thank you, Kenley, for the hours of entertainment.

This post is dedicated to Nicole.

Geelong, Great Ocean Road
We stop at Geelong [pronounced like Jee-Long], a metropolitan area along the Great Ocean Road, west of Melbourne. Reminds me of Abbotsford, BC, Canada.
Coffee, Great Ocean Road
At James Street Cafe, the coffee is great. Kenley orders a macchiato.
London Bridge
London Bridge is probably falling down (eroding like the apostles).

Eat at comfort, like a Boss

If you recall, I have been to the Great Ocean Road once before and the tour bus broke down on the way back. We stayed at Apollo Bay for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I remember it being only so-so, so I told my companions, “let’s try not to eat at this Chinese restaurant.” Where do we end up? The Chinese Restaurant. It is the only one that opens late, and by the time we arrive, they would only serve us take out. So we do as bosses do, take matters in to our own hands – bring food back to our lodge, and watch TV as we eat.

While waiting for Chinese takeout, we saw this. So sweet.

Sightseeing in the wild, with the Boss

The next morning, we head back to Port Campbell to see the Twelve Apostles and other lookouts. What do we see on the way there?!? Koala in the wild!

Excitement!

What more can I ask for – great companionship and stunning landscape.

The 2 ones getting excited. How to tame, how to tame?

Tamed.
Tamed.

It is like someone put a pause on life so we can slow down and not think about anything except what’s in front of us. Have you these moments and where is it?
