Streets in Singapore

Streets in Singapore

This post is dedicated to Mr and Mrs Lim.

I can see why life in Singapore can be so desirable: safe, clean, and buzzing of activities (in moderation). The best part for someone like me is that you know you’re in an Asian country but everyone speaks English. No translation needed, or rather, some adjustment to Singlish is required, but it’s amusing to my ears!

Pagoda Street, Chinatown.

Busy vs empty pork shop.
Temple Street, Chinatown. One can easily tell which shop sells the better sliced pork.

Market in Singapore
People doing their own thing. I want to say this is Bugis Market because “Bugis” is such a funny name. It isn’t and, unfortunately, I don’t recall the name.
Orchard Road, known for shopping malls.

Residential area
Residential area, so peaceful. I have seen chickens running freely here.

Fruit market, Geylang.
Fruit markets where one can buy durians, and other exotic fruits. It is located in the same area as the red light district in Geylang.

I have eaten durian in Singapore, but I don’t think it is the best I’ve had.

;P

  1. The cover photo for this entry looks superimposed. Street scene with people overlaid? Very interesting effect.
