“Arresting Experience” More like Unresting…

…in an exciting way, like being Sherlock Holmes, in the 1950’s, in Vancouver.

To my surprise, it is more interesting than I expected albeit some reading involved. In the Vancouver Police Museum they showed day-to-day information that could be useful for the average person, like confiscated weapons, historic unlawful gambling items, and a showcase of guns.

When you first enter the exhibit.
Confiscated weapons
Confiscated weapons. Maybe some of these are a fashion statement. I’m kidding, but really, what are people thinking?
Counterfeiting Statistics.
Why some stores refuse $100 bills. I wonder what the current stats are after we started using the new plasticky bills.
Morgue and Autopsy Suite warning sign
Did I mention this museum was previously a morgue? It really adds to the eerie feel.

Two murder cases back in the 1950’s. It’s bone-chilling thinking that these happened in neighbourhoods where the houses look like the ones in my neighbourhood. It doesn’t help to know that “[t]his case has never been solved”.

A collection of human organs is displayed in the autopsy room.

The museum also offers a series of “Movies in the Morgue”.

My Thoughts

Enjoyed it! But in regards to Movies in the Morgue? Um, I’ll pass, thanks.
