Macau

Macau has been administered by both the Chinese and Portuguese (because China had leased the port out to the Portuguese for a finite period). You will find a lot of European influence around.

Tofu Pudding

My friend SC says this shop has the smoothest tofu pudding she has ever tried. I don’t know if I can concur because nothing tops the memory of KN saying, “好滑” (“so smooth”) while the tofu pudding slid out of her mouth. This happened years ago when we were eating tofu pudding at the foot of the big Buddha, at Lantau Island (Hong Kong).

Other notable Macanese foods: almond cookies, portuguese egg tart, pork jerky, and pork buns.

Local Streets

A lot of old buildings can be seen. Some of the dwellings are metal shelters.

Some of the buildings here are very colourful – yellow, pink, pale green, sky blue.

I almost feel like a ripped this from a scene on a Chinese news program. Man doing his stretches mid-afternoon.

New Casinos

Macau is known for its casinos, and it seems there are not enough of them. While Wynn Palace here had its grand opening this summer, there are still many under development.

The new Wynn Palace in Macau has a gondola in the front. The water fountain show is neat too.

Wynn featured these merry-go-round and carousel. Both moving in circles, a fengshui thing to help the flow of money go into the casino.

Thanks to AM and SC for showing me around!
