There are petrol stations and bars, but enroute to Alice Springs, is mostly barren land. I can’t imagine living in such a remote place, when seeing people is the highlight of the day. In this post, I share with you some interesting stops, including a Pink Panther themed inn and Devils Marbles, some massive boulders in the middle of no where.
The typical view from outside our bus: red dirt, barren, desert land with plants that have adjusted to this climate.
Pub with Charlie, the water buffalo from the film Crocodile Dundee.A Pink Panther themed inn.We slept in permanent tents.Bed and mattress inside the tents. Some electricity and light.A lot of the bars encourage tourists to leave behind a personal item as a memorabilia. Among them are foreign banknotes, ball caps, flip flops, undergarments and jerseys.
Gutter ball champ, oh yeah!Being comfortable on the bus: taking up two seats, putting towels up to block sunlight coming in, drying out towels on seats.
