Gold Coast/Queensland is known for theme parks. Dreamworld is known to be one of the best. Naturally, Lillian and I do not miss the chance to experience the thrill.
The BuzzSaw ride is definitely one that surprised me (photo above right) – upside down, 360º turns. Watch the video.
The design of the Drop Tower is brilliant. It has 2 rides: Tower of Terror and Giant Drop.
Inside the Tower of Terror, riders patiently wait in dark rooms and corridors, with the sound effects of racing heart beats and caution signs everywhere. Definitely not for the faint heart.
For those who are not into rides, there were live tiger shows, KungFu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek characters to take photos with.
At Dreamworld, they have a section called Corrobee, where we could see Australian wildlife.
One of Lillian’s requests (probably the only request she had for this trip) is to cuddle a koala.
Overall, it is a great experience. Good rides, and good company. The park itself is smaller than I expected, but there is still a lot to explore. One day of theme parks is sufficient, though. Any more would be too much for me.
