Curating photos
One difficulty I have with writing my blog posts is I have too many photos I want to share, and not enough time to process and write about them. I initially want to limit 10 pictures max. I later decide to be more flexible but it is still difficult.
Curating photos is a good analogy to life. It’s so easy to say “yes” to everything, and so difficult to say “no” to things you really want. In the end, how do we decide? What’s important and what are we going to commit to? Which photos will make the cut?
I believe curation is necessary, because if we don’t, we’d be stuck in the Louvre forever, wondering about every piece. Most of us will realize there are common themes, common styles, common religious references – ie. we get bored. Thankfully, someone tells us the story of Mona Lisa, so she becomes everyone’s target when we visit the Louvre. (I actually haven’t been to France. One day, maybe, one day.)
This post is dedicated to Mr. Huang. Thanks for the additional lens for this magnificent trip.
What do these photos mean to me? They remind me of supportive friends who made my dream happen. They remind me that strong will and effort pays off. They remind me not to doubt, not to forget.
You only need one reason.
I think I would leave the Louvre—because they will kick me out.
