Grampians Champians

Tiff on a Cliff
Tiff on a cliff. This is what I call living on the edge.

Over the months I’ve become vain. Who poses like that and then puts it on her blog?

This post is dedicated to Stubeedoobeedoo, who is so kind to be our guide. Also, a shout out to MokaC: this be a prelude to WCT?

Not Glamping

Tent on the campground
Glamping, camping, gramping. Buandik campground.

Glamping = Glamourous camping, involves the luxuries of amenities and housing.

No, this is not a glamping trip. It’s a funny term I thought I’d include for fun. Although, I do find myself at times a city girl – wanting the luxuries of rinsing my dishes, clean fingernails, and a clean outhouse.

Meet Stubeedoobeedoo

Stubeedoobeedoo makes bhourgal.
He makes a good bhourgal vegetarian dish, with scrambled eggs and sour cream.
Aboriginal art
He leads us to the Aboriginal rock art site, at night, near our campground.

Yes, Stu (from the Yarra Valley road trip) has a nickname now: Stubeedoobeedoo!

I ask Stu, “I’ve met those senior to me who tell me that 30’s are the best times of their lives. Having lived through your 20’s and 30’s, do you think this is true?”

Stu replies, “I hope not.” Then he also tacks on, “It’s what you make of it.”

Eureka moment. Ta!

The Hike: Mt William to Dur Dur

Slope to Mt William
Sometimes I hike without knowing the name of where I am. Good thing there are signs – Mt William. The sign speaks no lies – strenuous walking involved indeed.

The grampians
The Grampians National Park – known for its natural beauty, indigenious rock art sites, and sandstone mountain ranges.
Pile of rocks, Grampians.
Jenga!

Blue spring flowers
So blue, so pretty.

And after the 7.5 hour hike, no one wants to cook and wait for food, so we went to the pub.

HurricaneCC glares while I take a photo of her eating.
Love this girl!

Thanks Champs!
