In recent years, I have become quite fond of the idea of adventure travelling. When I can, I add hikes or some sort of nature exploration to my travel itinerary. Although strenuous, given that city exploration by foot is already tiresome, it is quite gratifying. I’d even go so far as to say it has long term benefits.
What I mean is, when I come home after my travels, I get flashbacks of these trips. They remind me of the little accomplishments and hardships that I had to endure to achieve them. They inspire me to believe that I can overcome new obstacles, or get through a bad day. I’ve climbed Mt Fuji, I can do this too.
So next time you’re planning your travels, consider adding a bit of adventure to it. You may need to train physically for it but when you come home and recollect the memories, it’s like you added some zing that you can savour for a lifetime.
